ELECTRIFY Stories - Electrify Everything!

Hear from people who have found great electric alternatives to fossil fuel burning products in their lives…

Sally - Portland, OR - Induction Stove

“We replaced our gas range with this induction range. It's one of the best purchases we've made recently! Not only is gas leakage into our house reduced, but it's performance is amazing - over 2 quarts of pasta water boiling hard in less than 5 minutes!! And super easy to keep clean.”

Holly - Bennington, VT - Induction Stove

“My oldest daughter was at the age where she felt old enough to stay home alone. She is very responsible-- my only concern was the gas stove that was in the kitchen when we purchased our house. I was concerned with the gas in the house and how easily mistakes can be made. After working with ElectrifyNow, it occurred to me that if I electrify, it would be a win-win! Stop fossil fuel use and feel safe with my daughter staying home alone. I am grateful for ElectrifyNow and their expertise and guidance.”

Melanie - Portland, OR, - Induction Stove

"We got rid of our gas stove, and bought an induction stove for health and climate reasons. Didn't want to burn any more methane - especially in the house, but really anywhere at all if possible. What I didn't expect was that the new stove boils a big pot of pasta water so much more quickly than the old one and cleanup is SO much easier. Love it. "

“In 2021 we decided to add an electric fireplace to our living room. We wanted a hearth to center our couch around but couldn't put in anything combustible due to a shared wall. Our electric fireplace added amazing ambiance to the room and was much cheaper than any other option. Plus our kids love changing the colors of the flames.”

Johanna and Ernest - Portland, OR - Induction Stove

“We were a little nervous at first because we were such gas snobs for cooking, but we love this induction range for lots of reasons. We love how it integrates with the counter so it gives us more useable surface, it’s really precise for temperature control, and its so easy to clean up! It also made it possible to use a smaller vent, and we love how sleek it looks.”

Bennington College VT - Electric Chainsaws

“We replaced our gas pwered chainsaws with these Stihl battery powered saws which are lighter and easier to maintain and cut just as well. The grounds keepers are very, very happy.”

Kay and Chip Range-01.png

Kay and Chip - Baton Rouge, LA

“Loving our new electric Fridgidaire Range with induction cooktop! The response time to increase and decrease heat is remarkable, and though it has been a while since we cooked with gas, it seems just as fast or even faster. This one also comes with convection bake and air fry options, which are great to have. It’s a bit of an investment but not as expensive as you think, and it’s totally worth it!”

Anne K Induction-01.png

Anne - Portland, OR “My parents switched to electric induction a few years ago so I already knew the wonder of boiling water in under a minute. My pots are All-Clad or cast iron, so I had no concerns about cookware compatibility. I selected a model online prioritizing number of burners (5), low profile and level with the counter-top, and the same size as my gas stove. I went with the GE Profile 30’’ Induction for $2,700. Frustratingly, the stove could not be installed at the time of delivery since, according to the delivery guys, “they can’t touch the gas line.” Well done on that lobbying, gas industry. A quick call to Andrew and a visit from the electrician later, I had my new stove hooked up.”

Jules - Portland, OR - Induction Stove

“While we had owned a gas stove in the past, I wanted something with more performance.  It happened to be better for the environment, too.  Now that we've gone to induction, I'll never go back.  We get fine touch control on cooking temperatures on a range that goes both lower and higher than gas.  We get all the environmental benefits of going electric, but we also get instant heat.  And overall, the stove was about the same price as a mid-range gas stove.  We love it!”

Holly ebike-01.png

Holly - Bennington, VT - Electric Bike

“ When I received the money from the government stimulus package it felt so bad. I should have used if for a safety net, but I wanted to use it for something good, so I bought an ebike to go back and forth to work on! I LOVE that thing!”

Brian Range-01.png

Brian and Perrin - Portland, OR - Induction Stove

“We replaced our gas range with an LG Induction range. We have been cooking with gas for years. Our gas range was very good and we liked it, but we like the induction range even better. It is really quick to heat up and gives great temperature control. It simmers better than gas and it is so much easier to clean. Plus we love the warming drawer and use it almost every day for warming plates.”

Dale Fireplace-01-01.png

Dale - Marin, CA - Electric Fireplace Insert

"We removed a gas log lighter from a fireplace and installed an electric fire place insert instead.   That gave us the same visual effect and has the capability for heating as well to give a similar feel  as a wood burning fireplace without the emissions and mess.”

Brian and Perrin - Portland, OR - Battery Powered Lawn Care

“We asked our lawn service contractor to switch to battery powered equipment to avoid the noise and heavy pollution that gas powered equipment produces. He agreed and now he only uses battery powered equipment on our property. It is SO MUCH QUIETER it is hard to believe how much difference it makes - and no more stinky gas fumes!!! Our neighbors are interested in switching too.”
